Shrews’ Tom Bradshaw International Debut

Shrewsbury Towns young hotshot forward Tom Bradshaw made his Welsh under 19 debut and topped off a great night with his first International goal.

The Welsh side joined up last Saturday before travelling to Lichtenstein for a friendly match ahead of their up and coming Euro Qualifiers.

Tom was given a boost ahead of the game after being named in the starting eleven and then topped it off with an assured finish on the half hour mark.

Accrington win over Lincoln

Friday night saw Accrington continue with their impressive start to the season with a 3-0 win over Lincoln.

Two of the goals coming from top man of the evening Terry Gornell. His first to open his account was in spectacular fashion with a volley from the edge of the box after 19 minutes and his second was on 60 minutes after Jimmy Ryan carried the ball from his own box and laid on a perfect pass for Gornell to squeeze the ball home.

Aaron Cresswell’ s great performances of the new season are gathering momentum in a stuttering Tranmere side.

Aaron scored a stunning free kick at the weekend to earn a share of the spoils from a difficult away encounter at Dagenham. This, and a similar goal at Shrewsbury in pre season have drawn attention to the 20 year old left back, earning him rave reviews in the national newspapers and football forums. His consistent performances, solid defensive work and ability to push forward are a welcome ray of sunshine for the Wirral based club.

Rotherham captain, Ian Sharps signs for Shrews

Shrewsbury Town FC have secured the services of Rotherham captain Ian Sharps. Ian last week signed a 2 year deal at the Greenhous Meadow after turning down a new deal at Rotherham.

Ian will be a fantastic attribute for the Shrews promotional push under the guidance of new manager Graeme Turner.

Connor Goldstone signs for Shrewsbury

We would like to mention the achievements of 17 year old central defender, Connor Goldstone. Shrewsbury Town FC were quick to offer the highly talented defender a 3 year deal, even though he is only half way through his scholarship at the Shropshire Club. This in itself shows how much the highly rated teenage defender means to Shrewsbury and we would like to give our best wishes for the upcoming season to Connor and family.

Teenage hotshot, Tom Bradshaw has signed a new professional contract with Shrewsbury Town FC. After breaking into the first team towards the end of the season and lighting up the stage with three fantastic goals and stunning performances, the 17 year old was attracting interest from a host of big name clubs, including West Ham, Birmingham and Fulham to name a few. However, all the level-headed youngster wanted to now concentrate on, was a new deal with his academy club and build on the strong footings he has laid for himself for the upcoming 2010/11 season.

We would personally like to congratulate Tom on his exploits last season and wish him all the best for next season. We all look forward to a truly promising future ahead.

Team Update – Rochdale FC

A special mention has to go out to the achievements of Keith Hill and team at Rochdale FC. The team finally secured promotion to League 1 last weekend in what has been a sensational season for the league 2 club, where Keith and staff have put a young and exciting squad together on a shoestring budget to achieve not only a long awaited promotion but also by playing lively, exciting Football in a very difficult division.

Ian Craney has agreed a settlement on the remainder of his contract at Huddersfield Town after a stop start campaign under the management of Lee Clark.

Ian is currently on loan until the end of the season at Morecambe, but picked up a groin problem which was quickly rectified as a hernia. Ian is now recovering well from hernia surgery and is looking fighting fit and has said he can’t wait to get started next season. Ian who will now be a free agent has a number of exciting options going into the close season.

Congratulations to Ian Sharps! the big strapping centre half has been acknowledged by his fellow professionals and made it into the 2009/ 2010 PFA TEAM OF THE YEAR. Hopefully the inform defender can take forward his leadership into the final promotional push and help Rotherham to the playoffs and a dream Wembley Final win.

Danny again showed his on going form this season with a team of the week performance for the fourth week running with his towering defensive displays in Carlisles great run of undefeated games, including the 5-0 thrashing of MK Dons and the Semi Final 1st and 2nd leg encounters against Leeds where Carlisle went on to win on penalties to set up the Johnstones Paint Trophy Final at Wembley against Southampton on Sunday March 28th

The captain marvel has already been offered a new deal to ward off the interest of preying clubs.
