I was fortunate to witness one of the goals of the season! at the Britannia Stadium where Stoke and Wigan shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. Maynor Figueroas quick thinking free kick from his own half deceived everyone and carried all the way and dropped into the top corner to give Wigan a 2-1 lead which even a selection of stunned Stoke fans had to applaud. But with Stokes hard robust attitude they rescued a point and must thank a late save from Stokes Thomas Sorenson to deny Hugo Rodellegos penalty. Great to see an old team friend Andy Wilkinson put in another solid performance at left back and a mention must go to Tuncay Sanli a worthy man of the match not only due for a great goal but a great all round performance.
